June 22, 2022
The new operations hub will be the global assembly, shipping, and receiving facility for the fast-growing business, adding additional jobs in the Morton/Peoria area.
MORTON, Ill., June 22, 2022 – Precision Planting, LLC, today announced a commitment to build a new 500,000 sq ft operations center in Morton. Building on a 29-year legacy in the Morton/Tremont area, the company is a leading manufacturer of practical and effective precision ag technologies for farmers who seek to improve crop yields sustainably, and share Precision Planting’s passion for continuous innovation - “Believe in Better.”
The company, which creates a variety of products farmers install on their existing equipment to improve the accuracy and data collection of their equipment, and, ultimately, the profitability of their farming operation, has been headquartered in Tremont since 1993.
“Since 2014, we have had an operations presence in Morton, with our main facility being located at the corner of Birchwood and Erie,” said Keith Crow, director of finance, Precision Planting. “As the business has continued to add products and increase our global footprint, an entirely new space to assemble, house, and ship products has become imperative. We are choosing to stay in Morton because of our committed employees' proximity to Tremont headquarters, and access to the interstate. We look forward to growing our presence as an employer of choice in the greater Peoria area.”
“It’s been a privilege to work with Precision Planting during the planning process for the development of this new facility in Morton at the crossroads of Interstates 74 and 155,” said Morton Mayor Jeff Kaufman. “This new operations facility will help sustain the quality of life in Morton with new and retained jobs and new property taxes that are vital for our community. A lot of work has been done so that the infrastructure is in place to support both Precision Planting and future development in this area of Morton.”

The facility will be located at the north end of Erie Avenue, south of the exit ramp from I-74 East to I-155 South. Ryan Companies US, Inc., a national commercial real estate solutions provider, is expected to begin construction in July 2022. Ryan is also the developer of this project. The building is scheduled to begin operations in November 2023, pending construction schedules.
This location will more than double Precision Planting’s operations square footage and also allows for future expansion of the facility, based on the growth of the business.
Precision Planting’s other area facilities include a headquarters south of Tremont, a software development facility in Bloomington, and a 400-acre research farm, the Precision Technology Institute, in Pontiac.
“This facility will be state-of-the-art, not only providing an improved customer experience, but also a workplace that our employees will look forward to coming to every day,” said Chuck Boyer, senior operations manager, Precision Planting. “The facility will serve the needs of our farmer customers around the globe, and we will be ready to hire more great employees who embody the culture of Precision Planting: teamwork, care for each other, and an ownership mentality being at the forefront of how we work.”
