Precision Planting has announced a New Research Grant Program to assist anyone during research on planting and seeding issues. Anyone doing a research trial can apply for grant funding assistance from Precision Planting.
Precision Planting launched the web application AutoMap that allows 20/20 SeedSense owners to write variable rate prescriptions based on soil types. These prescriptions can be read applied using the 20/20 RowFlow controller.
At the Precision Planting Winter Conferenc, the tillage and heavy residue left in the fields from this fall was a popular discussion topic. To help address those concerns, Precision Planting released CleanSweep, a pneumatic pressure control for row cleaners. This new system allows operators to adjust the pressure on row cleaners from the cab, on the go.
Growers attending the Precision Planting Summer Conference got a first look at two exciting new products that will be available in the 2010 season. Variable rate and swath control management have been an excellent way to increase returns on acres wihtout having to add extra inputs. Expensive and complicated systems have been a deterrent to growers wanting to reap returns from these practices. The new 20/20 RowFlow controller works in tandem with the 20/20 SeedSense monitor to provide simple, accurate control of hydraulic drive motors and row clutch shut-offs.
Seed tube sensor technology hasused infared lights to monitor seed delivery for years. While these sensors were great for ensuring that seed was being delivered, today's need for accurate counting of seeds and spacing require more accurate sensors. WaveVision sensors from Precision Planting use new 3D technology to more accurately count seeds.

Precision Planting will pay John Deere vacuum planter owners $10 to return their vacuum meter disks to their Precision Planting dealer and replace them with the eSet System. There is overwhelming evidence that flat disk systems outperform cell disk technology. Still, too many corn growers continue to use the outdated method because their manufacturer has not developed an alternative. The eSet system has become the standard for seed placement and is a simple retrofit kit for John Deere planters. In order to reward customers for stepping up to the improved singulation system, Precision Planting will provide a $10 rebate for each John Deere Vacuum Disk that is returned when accompanied by a reciept showing the purchase of a replacement eSet System.
