The meters worked fine. I only had 6 out in the field with a custom operator. He liked them for the different seed sizes he has to plant. The wiper was a good idea because he was having some plugging problems. I think he will change over his other planter next year.

We own a John Deere 1760 vacuum planter and have not been completely satisfied with the seed spacing. Seed spacing is very important to us, so when we heard about the eSet disk from Precision Planting we decided to try them. They worked great, as close to a picket fence stand as we have seen today. We planted multiple seed varieties and seed sizes and all worked great. It didn’t matter what the seed size or shape was; they all were spaced correctly. Great product!

…In our comparison plot between the eSet and the John Deere standard 30 cell disk. The seed was a medium flat planted at 33,000 population. We flagged 8 rows of each disk for 30 feet. The John Deere disk had 46 skip/double errors while the eSet had 8. The John Deere disk was calibrated on our test stand prior to planting and was set to 10# of vacuum. The eSet was calibrated and set to 18# of vacuum. We were quite stunned by the graphic differences in performance and just wanted to share the results.
